NVIDIA's Quadro P600 was launched in February 2017 and, like the Quadro P400, is a professional workstation graphics card, not a gaming card. It's built on the Pascal architecture and offers approximately 70% more visualization performance than the older Maxwell-based Quadro K620. It also has more than double the memory bandwidth of the previous generation, making working with large models and assemblies much smoother.
Compared to the Quadro P400, this card comes with more CUDA cores, better memory bandwidth, and—most importantly—four Mini DisplayPort outputs (the P400 only had three). This means the card directly supports full quad-display setups, a huge advantage for designers, architects, and multi-monitor business workstations.
Performance and Architecture
The Quadro P600 is built on the same GP107 chip used in the Quadro P400 and GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, but NVIDIA has enabled more shading units here. The card features 384 CUDA Cores, 24 Texture Units, and 16 ROPs. The GPU operates at around 1354 MHz, with a boost clock of 1455-1557 MHz.
Along with Shader Model 5.1, OpenGL 4.5, DirectX 12.0, and Vulkan 1.0 support, this card also offers advanced features like 64x Full Scene Antialiasing (FSAA), up to 16K x 16K texture and render processing, and 16x anisotropic filtering, making textured objects more crisp and detailed. Compute API support for CUDA, DirectCompute, and OpenCL is also included. HEVC encode-decode of HDR video at 4K @ 60Hz is also supported.
Memory and memory bandwidth
This card features 2GB of GDDR5 video memory, running on a 128-bit memory interface. This provides memory bandwidth of up to 64 GB/s, which is exactly double that of the Quadro P400 (32 GB/s). Some mobile/laptop variants also offer 4GB memory configurations. The improved bandwidth allows this card to handle large 3D models and heavy assembly files more smoothly.
Display Output and Connectivity
The Quadro P600 features 4x Mini DisplayPort 1.4 outputs, meaning it can directly connect up to 4 displays simultaneously, each supporting up to 4096x2160 (4K) resolution @ 60Hz. The card can also output up to 4x 5120x2880 (5K) resolution via DisplayPort 1.4 multi-stream technology. Adapters/connectors can be used for VGA, DVI, or HDMI devices if needed.
The card seamlessly integrates into any modern workstation motherboard via the PCI Express 3.0 x16 interface, and can also be combined with up to four Quadro GPUs in a single system to create immersive multi-display setups such as display walls.
Cooling and Build
This card features the same single-slot, low-profile design (2.713" H x 5.7" L) as the Quadro P400, featuring an active cooling solution. Partners like PNY package it with both low-profile (SFF) and full-height (ATX) brackets to fit into a variety of chassis. The card's compact size allows it to be easily installed even in space-constrained workstations.
Things to keep in mind during installation
Seat the card correctly in its PCIe x16 slot. Being a single-slot card, it doesn't require an additional power connector (maximum power consumption is only 40W). Download the Quadro/RTX Professional driver from NVIDIA's official website, as it offers better stability and certification for professional applications (Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and Linux supported).
Who is this graphics card for?
The Quadro P600 is an excellent choice for professionals who require a quad-display setup, smooth interaction with large 3D models, and professional driver certification. For CAD designers, architects, engineers, and multi-monitor business workstations, this card is a significant upgrade from the Quadro P400. Gaming users should consider the GeForce series cards instead.
